We recently connected with Miriam (Mimi) Macklin and have shared our conversation below.

Miriam (Mimi), so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
It wasn’t easy, I’ll admit this is an area I had struggled with the most. Through prayer, consistent self care and taking care of my mental health I was able to grow into my most confident self and into the woman I am destined to be.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I consider myself a jack of all trades, “Ms. Exclusive,” if you will. My journey has not been easy, but it definitely has been worth it! Being a mom has shaped me into the dedicated woman that I am today. I give all the credit for my motivations to my son.

I currently have a career in the psychology field as a Behavioral Technician. I make sure not to let my adult duties get in the way of my creative processes.

Fashion has always been my passion! I just recently hit my 3 year anniversary in my crochet business, Doll Exclusives. And I’ve been a fashion influencer for 2 years now.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The most impactful traits I’ve picked up on my journey are my discipline, my patience and my creativity. These three traits combined are guiding me on my path to true success.

My number one piece of advice to anyone at any stage of their journey is to find your purpose and hold on to it! Remind yourself of your purpose everyday and don’t let anyone speak down on it, or question you. Stay true to you and you can’t fail.
