Meet Teresa López

We recently connected with Teresa López and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Teresa, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I owe 100% of my work ethic to my amazing parents. They’ve struggled and sacrificed so much leaving their homeland and entering a brand new world without even speaking the language so that their future kids can have a better life. Their hard work, in and out of their 9-5, was truly admirable. They thought me to work hard for what I want and ro give it my all at all times.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I discovered my love of crafting when my now 16y/o daughter was born. Preparing for her birthday parties each year I’d tell myself I wanted something unique, different, & personalized. This led me to evolve in this new passion of mine and truly find my path and what works for me. From making handmade invitations to candy bar table arrangements to now making custom personalized party decor, I know what truly allows me to use my passion and let my creative juices flow.

In the next year my plans are to grow and evolve yet again and open a party boutique shop ON WHEELS offering one of a kind decorations. This has been a long time coming but the bumps along the way only feed my flame within even more to accomplish this. God willing, I pray this allows me to spread my work all over DFW and beyond.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I feel that the most important things to be led by are your dream/passion, endurance, & humility. Having a dream is beautiful but working for that dream to make it a reality takes a lot of endurance and confidence in yourself and in your work. It’s all about staying true to yourself and paving your own way. What has helped me to continue with my craft is knowing how healing it is for my soul and knowing that I have discovered my God-given talent. That alone is priceless for me. Whether it be 1 order a week or 20, I know that what I create is done from the heart and with gratitude. It is a blessing all on its own to bring smiles to my client’s faces. My advice to you is to stay focused on YOUR path and don’t compare your success to others. This isn’t a race. We all have different stories and struggles. What matters is that you take that first step to make it happen. What ever that is, don’t stop learning and evolving in your talent. Keep on truckin’!

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is someone who trusts my work/talent and gives me creative freedom for their order. The ideal client is someone who knows I put my all into everything that I do. It’s a blessing that most of my clients already trust me tremendously and have become my regulars. To be told, “I trust you to do whatever you want” really does make my heart smile.
