Meet Paula Morales

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Paula Morales. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Paula, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resiliences comes from within, from integrating experiences. The process has a strong set of unlearning qualities while learning side by side. None of these ideas and or processes are separate, they walk hand in hand.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Paula Morales, and I am a genderfluid non binary person who was born amidst the Guatemalan civil war in the highlands of Quetzaltenango. My artistic journey encompasses diverse mediums such as analog synthesis, new media, illustration, painting and the fusion of art and technology.

Drawing from ancient Mayan traditions, I serve as a Mayan timekeeper, offering personalized guidance, one-on-one coaching, and divination readings, embracing my fluid identity I am open to work with other fluid folks. Alongside, I provide organizational and time management tools, empowering creative minds in their journey of self discovery.

Beyond coaching, my creations include wearable one-of-a-kind pieces and canvas art and adornments. I eagerly anticipate collaboration and walking alongside others on their journey and growth.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities, skills or areas of knowledge that have been impactful in my journey have been being open to understand, unlearn that sometimes this process can be harder than learning and also being able to integrate in my journey the information I have been presented with.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I feel overwhelmed I make sure to take a break and take a breather. I try to constantly create structures that help me strive and thrive. I use tools that set me up for success that take into consideration breaks, fun time and family time. As an artist and creative my layered thinking is a tool that constantly helps me reorganize and execute the projects and matters at hand. If I have any advice to offer it would be to find what you like what you are good and what you need to do, and use the tools at hand like physical paper, apps, alarms and peers to be able to break big ideas into smaller projects and if possible to also set times for these tasks. Time blocking has been life changing and being open and flow in the time management since I am open to understanding that we all have different needs. After creating your methods what are your goals, be open to reassess and edit what needs to be edited. Last and not least be open to community to feedback and to learning from those we admire and look up too.
