Meet Jessica Snyder

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jessica Snyder. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jessica, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My grandparents and parents have always had their own businesses… so I think subconsciously that felt like a normal path to take. I also started working as a kid on commercials, tv shows, etc. and “going to work” has always been something I’ve loved and been excited and proud about. I have never put it into a “dread” or negative category. I think it may also be a genetic deformity.

Thanks, so before we move on, could you tell our readers more about what you do and what you feel is most exciting or special about it?
Solarium Creative Studio is a boutique digital marketing agency – we specialize in content creation, social strategy and influencer relations. I had my own brand for about five years and really grew it via social media. When that chapter closed I thought about the fashion industry and what element I liked the most.. as a founder you are doing a bit of everything so I was lucky to have had a taste of all aspects. I did not want to spend my time in a factory and I am not a super technical designer (although I miss that part of it a lot!) so marketing and telling stories seemed to be the best fit. I was lucky enough to have a lot of opportunities in that arena following the growth of my own clothing line, as marketing is the most outward facing – people are really able to see what you have created in that respect, and therefore moving in that direction just flowed easily, which is always a sign you are on the right track, so I took it as that and here we are.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I would not say I’m fearless by any means, but I am not afraid to feel fear — if that makes sense. I always have said that is my super power because I don’t avoid the feeling – I lean into it and I actually enjoy it in a twisted way.. lol.. Number two: I have always been big into manifesting and therefore I really focus on my desired outcome and try my absolute hardest not to think about the opposite. Example: my last car I wanted I rented via turo for a week before figuring out how I was going to *actually get it* and pretended it was mine. I really get into the feeling of already having attained whatever my goal is. Lastly, just pure determination.. I am a dog with a bone when I want something and I will not stop no matter how far fetched it seems to someone else.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
This is probably the opposite of what most people would say, but my Dad has always pretty much refused to give me advice. He has always wanted me to figure things out on my own, even when I have really wanted input. He will say things like “you should make your own decision”.. Looking back I realize he did that because he wanted me to trust my own instincts and feel confident in my choices. I have always taken the long way around, off the beaten path, the unconventional choices etc. and I have never been forced in any direction by anyone. My parents gave me A LOT of freedom, and it could have gone the opposite way, but luckily, their strategy worked out ok.
