Meet Brandie Johnson

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brandie Johnson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Brandie, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
I stay in my lane🤣 What someone else is doing is not my business. Following others doesn’t foster Confidence within yourself, you fall down the rabbit hole of comparison and that will steal your joy!
I do what I love because it brings me joy, I stay away from anything else.
Everyone is different, I cultivate the things I am good at or want to be good at because at the end of the day, I have to be pleased with me, no one else.☺️

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I have done many things in my career, from selling mortgages, I was an esthetician, hair stylist and now boutique owner!☺️

My favorite is owning my boutique, it allows me to use my creativity like no other job I have had.

I design graphic tees, make custom cowboy hats and sew one of a kind Kc pieces and if I get bored making something, I make something else!
I am currently researching silversmithing to create jewelry inspired by my great grandfather. He was Native American and made beautiful turquoise jewelry!

I honestly think that has brought me the most success…….Do what lights you up!

Outside of my career, i love helping women see their worth and value. We are all amazing and it’s time we build each other up and cheer each other on!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Easy🤣 Passion, joy and determination!
If you are just starting, Put on blinders and stay in your lane!
If you haven’t built up your confidence yet, just know this world needs YOU!
Anyone can do what I do, but it’s ME that makes it different!

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Myself☺️ It’s me that makes my store what it is, it’s me that has to be happy when I lay down in bed at night! It’s me that has cultivated a community of women that believe in building each other up!
I’ve learned that as long as I am following my highest passion in every moment, I feel fulfilled! I look at the money, the success, the social media following, all as a by product of just me being authentically me! I don’t do it for any of that, I do it for my own happiness.
I do it because I thoroughly LOVE my career! ☺️
