Meet Tyler Townsend

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tyler Townsend . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Tyler , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
I’ve learned to be successful even when I’m the only one in the room that looks like me by staying true to myself! I’ve stayed focused. I’ve worked hard. I consistently strive to be my best self.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’ve always had a thing for food. My mom keeps every gift I give her. She even has a book I made in first grade about how I love food and love to eat. Cooking with my grandmother at a young age really instilled in me a passion for cooking. I am currently a Sous Chef and business owner. My business is called Cincy Sweet Pot. I create infused meals and treats. I am also a Private chef and do a lot of catering. I love cooking. I love when people love the food I prepare. I’m currently studying Food Science, aiming to create some of my own food products in the future.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

And always learn as much as you can! Knowledge is power and no one can take that away from you

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My father has been the most helpful in overcoming challenges, my career, and just my life overall. He’s my biggest supporter and my best friend!
