We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Stephany Camacho. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Stephany below.
Stephany, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
It has been a deep journey of self-discovery and development navigating the complexities of being the only person in the room who looks like me. I have discovered that staying true to who I am is crucial. Staying loyal to who I am is what has shown me results. Regardless of whether I am in a conference room or a stage. I have learned that by being loyal to who I am and keeping my morals, I not only boost my confidence but also get the respect of others around me. My relationships and decisions are guided by the values of integrity, empathy, and justice, even in the face of difficulties.
It has also been quite helpful for me to be more effective to combine my own experiences with knowledgeable thoughts. I generally strive to learn about current developments in areas that cause me curiosity.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Throughout my fifteen years as a professional musician, I have had the honor of expressing my love to many diverse audiences. Across genres and emotions, my music connects with listeners on a very intimate level and is available on all major streaming platforms.
I find the continual creativity and development in my field to be the most exciting thing. I am excited to share new sounds that inspire and push limits because I have new releases coming up. As we explore the transforming power of music together, I extend an invite to listeners to come along on this journey with me.
Stay in the loop for news on upcoming projects and live events. My music, along with my marketing and business endeavors, will bring opportunities that will allow me to make a difference.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three traits have proven crucial in my career as a music artist and business enthusiast, in my opinion: adaptability, creativity, and resilience. To those who are just starting out, I would advise them to make an investment in their personal development, network within the business, and remain loyal to their own voice and vision. Early development of these traits can help you overcome the obstacles in the music business and set the path for a prosperous career.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
My growth has been greatly aided by learning about boundaries. Specifically, “The Book of Boundaries,” which provides guidance on setting up appropriate boundaries. Understanding one’s own boundaries, communicating assertively, and the connection between boundaries and self-care are important lessons learned. I now feel more capable of communicating my needs, setting boundaries, and cultivating wholesome relationships because to this book.
