Meet Tori Marie

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tori Marie. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tori below.

Tori, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I love to write and am also motivated by the fact that I want to make a living doing it. My goal is to write novels that get my readers hooked and excited for my next book. I owe it to the readers who support me, and to my family who has encouraged me to do what I love.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Tori Marie is the author of “From, Maria” which is her first thriller novel. In this story, the main character Cora must make a decision after her new relationship with Dex pulls her into a twisted web of his past- Will she stay true to Dex, or will she run? Either way, she will learn that everything is not quite as it seems.

Tori is nearing the finish of her second thriller, which takes place in Virginia Beach where Tori currently lives. In this novel, women are turning up dead in the city, and crime journalist Avi Nichols begins to realize the story is bigger than anyone knows. Can she help uncover the truth behind these crimes?

Outside of writing, Tori is an MFA Creative Writing student at Old Dominion University, and most importantly, she is a Momma to her (almost) 5-year-old son. They live together with her fiancé and German Shephard dog and are always adventuring the beautiful Virginia outdoors.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities that are impactful to my writing journey are a love of writing, love of reading, and dedication. I advise all writers to read or write something every day and be sure to write at least most days of the week. Surround yourself with other writers if possible, and don’t be afraid to critique each other’s work. Everything you read and everything you write will improve your own work. You have the opportunity to better yourself daily.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I love the opportunity to collaborate with readers and book clubs. It’s great to share my work with people who have the same love for reading thrillers as I do.
