Meet Sh’Marv Harris

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sh’Marv Harris. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sh’Marv below.

Sh’Marv, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I think this is a great question. I really don’t believe that I have “found my purpose.” However, I feel like I found what works for me in this world somewhat. I believe that purpose of life is about what you give to others surrounding, the energy, the way you make them feel, the need from you for others etc. Essentially, I don’t feel like you have to look far for your purpose when its everything around you.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Sh’Marv Harris, I am from McComb Mississippi. I love music, nature, & art. I come from a history of arts and popular attractions, so it is imbedded in me naturally. I admire things that come off as “too much” or “strange” I focus on what makes things so questionable and study to find the answers independently. I feel thrilled about creating art in some form or fashion, literally. I love drawing and I will get into painting sooner than later, hopefully I can give an update about it in the near future. My temporary career is working as a workplace ambassador at The Coca-Cola Headquarters in Atlanta Georgia. I Also freelance in productions and film whenever I have the opportunity. The skills that I am polishing with my temporary career will be very useful moving forward with anything that comes my way.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My three recommendations of qualities are pretty basic. Confidence, patience, and consistency. The three attributes helped me develop tougher skin and really helped me try to live life by the quote ” slow and steady wins the race.” Confidence lends a hand to overcoming failures and seeing everything as an opportunity to grow. Patience is something I struggle with more than anything, but It’s easier to give the advice than to take it for myself. I see patience as almost a god like quality. I keep myself humbled by saying everything happens in divine timing. Lastly, being consistent. Whatever you do in life, give it your all or don’t even start. it’s nothing more annoying to me than an incomplete task.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
Back in 2021 I discovered this book called ” The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.” by Deepak Chopra. I try to live by each rule now that I am aware of them. However, I still slip up occasionally. “The Law of Giving” is impactful for me simply because it makes sense. Giving engenders receiving, receiving engenders giving. Also, the most powerful form of giving is nonmaterial. My favorite law is “The Law of Intention and Desire.” I’m not going to go too deep with all of this because I could go until 2030. Lots of gems from that specific law, but most important is knowing that intention combined with detachment guides to life-centered, present-moment awareness.
