We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Arnecia Bush a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Arnecia , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
This is question is a big one for me. I grew not always knowing my self worth or knowing much about my self esteem. It was always one of those topics that were lived but never talked about. Growing up in the 90s we did not have podcast and you tube or tic tok. We had journals and diaries. So I wrote a lot and did a lot soul searching trying to find validation in friend groups. It wasn’t until I got closer to God and really understood what I was born for. Truly finding my purpose and operating in what I was design to do grew my confidence 💯
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Arnecia Bush, originally from Sumter, SC and raised in Alexandria, LA. She is one of four children. Fortunately, both of her parents raised her to fear God. Academically, Arnecia graduated in 2012 from Grambling State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication alongside a minor in Public Relations. Arnecia developed a passion for teaching and helping others through being a participant in the Miss Black Louisiana Pageant in 2012. Through her then platformed theme, ‘Step Up and Step Out’, she developed a passion for helping young women and enjoyed making an impact on the lives of others.
Subconsciously, Arnecia was for many years fulfilling her purpose, unbeknownst to her. She started her life coaching buisness SLCS (sunshine life coaching services) and for 5 years she has been specializing in Family and Relationships. Learning and Exploring the realm of how behaviors of individuals have such a major impact on how we behave with others. She is beginning a new chapter in her life by competing for the title of Mrs. Georgia America 2024.🇺🇸 So over the years she has learned to not only fulfill her dreams, but to also help someone else get closer to theirs.
Arnecia Bush married the love of her life, 1st LUITENATUT Dr. Todd Bush, Sr. in June 2013. Through their union, they have two beautiful children, Todd Bush II and Ariana Bush. She believes that family should be our first ministry, and that if that foundation is strong you are strong. She loves her family and enjoys spending time with them any chance she gets. They currently reside in Sugar Hill, GA. She loves to travel and learn new things. Arnecia loves to eat and enjoy what this life has to offer. Her favorite snacks are apples and Carmel and pretzels.
Her motto is: “Build your life, live your life, and enjoy your life.”
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. RESILIENCE 2. DISCIPLINED
3. SUPPORT
My advice is only you can determine how the outcome of you life turns out if you can believe in yourself that’s all that
matters.
Determination is how you develop and lost ,mistakes, and redo is how you develop.
Life life to learn makes like easy.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I get overwhelmed, I have to remind myself what is the purpose. Usually overwhelming feelings come from forgetting the bigger purpose. Stay focused and remember why your doing this, never lose sight of the finish line but pace yourself and know when to rest.
