Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Laura Bushnell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Laura, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My name is Laura Bushnell. My story is one of resilience, born out of the shadows of a turbulent past. My life was predicted before my birth, I emerged into a world of uncertainty, growing up on a farm in a small town. My parents’ struggles with alcoholism and anxiety cast a heavy shadow over my childhood, leaving me to navigate a tumultuous path at a tender age.
Four kids on a farm, hired men coming and going, the specter of divorce looming large – my early years were marked by chaos and instability. The echoes of abuse I endured as a young child reverberated through my soul, shaping me in ways I am still unraveling. But amidst the darkness, I discovered a gift – the gift of sight, of seeing the world through a different lens, of knowing that I was meant for something more.
Today, as I stand before you, I carry with me the scars of my past, a testament to the battles I have fought and the demons I have conquered. But I also carry within me a resilience that has been forged in the fires of adversity, a strength that has been tempered by pain. My journey is not just a tale of survival, but a story of transformation, of rising from the ashes and embracing the light that shines within.
I am still burdened by the weight of a story that has shaped the very fabric of my being. A tale of love and tragedy, woven together in a tapestry of sorrow and regret. My mother, was taken from this world by the hands of my stepfather, in what he believed to be an act of twisted mercy. He shot her and then shot himself . His letter farewell letter was a final gesture of love, a promise fulfilled in the darkness of his own despair.
As I look back on those fateful days, I am haunted by the images of a woman who once radiated with life, now fading into the shadows of her own suffering. She, who had cared for so many, now found herself in need of care she could not bear to accept. The whispers of nurses and the scent of illness filled the air, a stark contrast to the memories of her vibrant spirit that still lingered in my heart.
Separated by distance, I grappled with the echoes of our shared past, where we had compassionately put our beloved animals to rest, sparing them from prolonged agony. Yet, in the face of human suffering, we found ourselves paralyzed by the intricate web of emotions that bound us to our mother’s fate. If we treated people as we do our beloved animals perhaps a layer of suffering could be eased.
In the quiet moments of reflection, I find myself questioning the complexities of love and loss, of life and death. How do we reconcile the desire to end one’s suffering with the inherent sanctity of existence? The answers elude me, lost in the vast expanse of emotion that lingers in the aftermath of a tragedy that defies comprehension. And so, I carry with me the fragments of a shattered reality, piecing together the narrative of a love that was both a source of comfort and a wellspring of sorrow.
So I ask you, dear reader, to join me on this journey of self-discovery, of healing, and of empowerment. Together, let us rewrite the narrative of our lives, reclaiming our power and embracing our true potential. For in every shadow, there lies a glimmer of light, and in every hardship, there lies an opportunity for growth. Let us walk this path together, hand in hand, as we dare to dream and to believe in the beauty of our own resilience.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities that were more impactful in my journey are trusting my inner guidance, learning to love myself and learning that giving and receiving are the same. Trust is the foundation of a spiritual life and can not be given to another. It must be learned step by step. I would say that it is most important to mediate and cleanse the heart so you can learn about who you really are. The breathe is how we receive so paying attention to your breathe is key. It is much easier to give than to receive! When you balance this part of your life you open doorways into higher frequency. The key to higher frequency is living from the heart. The mind always wants to get in the way. Meditation trains the mind. The mind is either a tool or a weapon. Meditaton forms your mind into a clear tool for transformation and healing. When we heal we are not healed alone.
How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is anyone who wants to find their purpose or wants to live their purpose. The number one characteristic is curiousity. I help people to live from their heart and trust themselves. I often have people come to me that feel stuck or want a higher perscpective on a problem. I help business to build a better DNA so they can find more success but also more joy.
