Meet Kevin McKenney

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kevin McKenney a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Kevin, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I found my purpose when my 4 Sons Kevin aka KJ, K’Von aka KOOL, K-LOVE aka DANCER and Keith aka DUCK approached me on December 7th 2010 and informed me they wanted to start a R&B Group like the Jackson 5 and New Edition and they were only the age of 9, 7,5, 3 after I informed them being performers was not something to take lightly and took dedication, determination and desire to be Great.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am Honorable Discharged Army Veteran who is dedicated to guide my offspring’s to a better life then what I had growing up guiding them away from the pitfalls I encountered growing up. My focus is to ensure my Son’s MacFour are well versed in not only the entertainment side but also the business side of the Music Industry.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities are Dedication, Determination and Desire. My advice is read your contract, don’t compromise your morals to get ahead or become rich.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
I call for a Family meeting and place any situation that’s overwhelming me and ask for everyone’s opinion and being able to accept constructive advise without letting personal feelings cloud my judgement.
