Hi Ciara, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I come from a hard-working family. Growing up in a household with a single mom who worked two jobs and a grandma who worked fulltime at a factory. Watching both work all the time inspired me to want to be work just as hard as they did. We didn’t have an abundance growing up, but we had enough and what we needed .Growing up like that made me realize just how important it was to work and to be the best you can be. I knew I wanted more for myself when I got older and had always envisioned owning my own business.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Having worked in Medical Billing and Coding for nearly a decade, I decided to branch out on my own and begin my own company, KLConsulting LLC. I currently serve as both the Owner and Operator.

I pride myself on attention to detail and ability to solve complex problems medical practices face in their billing processes. A good biller/coder can see a problem coming from a mile away, and I do just that. As the medical billing and coding processes become more complex, you need someone with experience and passion by your side, and that’s where I come in.

Stemming from my passion for helping people alongside my skill set in medical billing and coding, I founded KL Consulting, LLC in 2019. Although based in Somerset, Kentucky, KL Consulting is proud to have clients in multiple locations across the United States. We are able to assist both individuals and medical practices in understanding medical billing and coding needs. We pride ourselves on our technical expertise, low rates, and ability to connect and understand our clients.

Within the last year, medical and behavioral Health practices have had to alter their interactions and treatment with their patients due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. With all of the changes that have taken place, it has also affected the billing world and how visits are now billed. If your practice is struggling with how to bill in light of the global pandemic, KLConsulting can assist you in this area and help your practice get on the right path with telehealth.

Our goal at KLConsulting is to help prevent Private Medical Companies from losing thousands of dollars each year due to common billing errors or not having the time and resources to focus on their Practice and Clients needs . KLConsulting’s process is designed to empower your team to work harder, smarter and more efficiently, while we handle the back end.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Good Work Ethics Honesty
Being Able to work with clients/customers

The advice I would give anyone who is early on in their journey, would be to always give a 110% at whatever it is you’re asked or required to do, show up on time and with a good attitude, learn to listen to people first and then address the issue next, always do your job as if you own it, always offer to help wherever you can and learn any new skills when you have the opportunity and always double check your work for accuracy.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is any Healthcare or Mental Health Provider running their own Practice/Group with issues in Billing/Credentialing. These Providers are either just starting their Practice and looking for someone to help setup their EMR and do their billing, looking to get Credentialed with Insurance Payers to start seeing clients and bill insurance, have missing money, have a high AR ( Aging Report/claims that are lingering out there), or need assistance in managing their Revenue and Accounts Receivables.

The characteristics of my client would be someone who is ready to let go of the reigns and trust the right person to come in and help them, they will be prepared to work together in order to make their Practice Grow and run efficiently, someone who is looking to get organized and someone who tries to understand when I explain the processes to them and why something isn’t working, someone who is willing to learn the basics of my side of the business so they will have some knowledge of what I do and why I do it.
