Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lauren Logan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lauren , thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes from understanding that happiness is a choice. A daily decision in making the effort to look on the bright side of life. I try to remain positive and believe that everything happens for a reason, even if I cannot see or understand the reason within the moment. Choosing to have a positive attitude towards life allows me to practice gratitude and be knowledgeable about the many blessings in my life. There are many things to be grateful for, it’s about taking the time to say that you are grateful for the roof over your head, the food in your stomach, the people around you that are a positive influence. Once you start counting your blessings on a daily basis, I believe it is opening the floodgates to allowing other blessings to come into your life.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Travelwlolo is a travel page that I created, showing the adventures that I embark on. Sharing both the highs and lows along my journey. I am an entrepreneur and owning my own business allows me to have the flexibility and freedom to travel more freely. I like to say when it’s go time it’s go time and when it’s break time, it’s time to travel. Living by the motto- work hard, play hard is where I reside. Knowing when it’s time to work hard, it’s time to give it my 100% and when it’s a slower time in the year it allows me to prioritize traveling and enjoy the flexibility that remote work has to offer. Having that balance in life is extremely important to me.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The ability to think on my feet, treating everyone how you would like to be treated, and being open minded are all characteristics that I feel have greatly impacted my travel journey in a positive way. The ability to think on your feet is important because things will come up out of the blue or not go the way you planned and it’s important to be able to adjust and keep moving forward with a good attitude. Treating people the way you want to be treated is one of the golden rules in life. When traveling to new places, sharing kindness will take you a lot further then walking up to strangers with a rude undertone. And remaining open minded will allow new experiences and new adventures to creep into your life. I welcome new experiences with open arms.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
My parents never gave me money frivolous. They made me start working when I was 14 years old. Starting to understand the value of a dollar and what hard work means at such a young age greatly impacted my life. I look back and am thankful that I have a good head on my shoulders and that I am able to have fun while still making good financial decisions.
