Meet Brandon Kaiser

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brandon Kaiser. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Brandon, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Overcoming imposter syndrome has been an ongoing journey for me as the CEO of Biggest Fan. In a role where I’m constantly driving innovation and challenging the status quo, self-doubt can occasionally creep in.

To combat imposter syndrome, I draw strength from our core principles at Biggest Fan. We think bigger, adopt a 10x mentality, and embrace constant improvement through kaizen. These principles remind me that it’s okay to have big ambitions and think differently. By continuously striving for growth and pushing boundaries, I remind myself that progress is not about being perfect from the start but about consistently improving and evolving.

Another crucial aspect is our obsession with student sections and client results. I am deeply passionate about unlocking the untapped potential of student sections and helping schools create unique experiences. This passion fuels my determination and helps me combat any feelings of inadequacy. I remind myself of the value we bring to our clients and the positive impact we’re making, which bolsters my confidence and pushes imposter syndrome to the background.

Moreover, surrounding myself with a talented team of individuals who share our vision and mindset is essential. Together, we support and inspire one another, creating an environment where imposter syndrome is acknowledged but never allowed to hold us back. We celebrate each other’s successes and constantly learn from one another, reinforcing the idea that we are all growing and evolving together.

Lastly, I’ve learned to embrace failures and setbacks as opportunities for growth. By reframing challenges as learning experiences, I can shift my focus from self-doubt to continuous improvement. Each setback becomes a chance to gain new insights, refine our strategies, and ultimately become better as a company and as individuals.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
At Biggest Fan, we are driven by a singular purpose: to revolutionize the student section experience. We believe that a strong and vibrant student section can elevate school spirit, create lasting memories, and foster a sense of community. What sets us apart is that we are the only company that specializes in what we do, and we are on a lifelong mission to disrupt the industry.

What we do is create unique and unforgettable student section experiences for schools. We go beyond the traditional approach of copy-and-pasting ideas from one school to another. Instead, we work closely with each school to understand their values, traditions, and culture, and then we help them develop tailor-made strategies that truly resonate with their students.

What excites me the most about our work is the opportunity to unleash the untapped potential of student sections. We believe that every school has its own distinct identity and that by tapping into that uniqueness, we can create incredible experiences that go beyond the ordinary. Witnessing the transformation of a lackluster student section into a thriving, energetic, and engaged community is truly rewarding.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Reflecting on my journey, I believe there were three key qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that had the most significant impact:

Work Ethic: A strong work ethic is crucial for success in any endeavor. It involves discipline, dedication, and a willingness to put in the necessary effort and time to achieve your goals. My advice to those early in their journey is to cultivate a strong work ethic by setting clear goals, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining consistency in your work habits. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and always strive for excellence in everything you do.

Desire to Learn: The desire to continuously learn and grow is an invaluable quality that fuels personal and professional development. Embrace a growth mindset and approach every experience as a chance to acquire new knowledge and skills. Actively seek out opportunities for learning, whether through formal education, online courses, workshops, or mentorship. Read books, attend seminars, engage in meaningful conversations, and stay curious. Remember that learning is a lifelong journey, so commit yourself to ongoing self-improvement.

Reading Books: Books are a treasure trove of wisdom, insights, and knowledge. They offer a pathway to broaden your perspectives, enhance your understanding, and learn from the experiences of others. Cultivate a habit of reading books that align with your interests, goals, and areas of growth. Seek out biographies, self-help books, industry-specific literature, and works that challenge your thinking. Reading books will expand your horizons, inspire creativity, and provide valuable lessons that can be applied in your journey.

Lastly, my advice to those early in their journey is to have a clear vision of the quality of life you desire and why it matters to you. Visualize the future you want to create and then work backward to determine the steps needed to achieve it. This process of reverse engineering helps you set meaningful goals, create actionable plans, and stay focused on your long-term vision. Regularly revisit and refine your vision as you grow and evolve, ensuring it remains aligned with your values and aspirations.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Certainly! Here is a book that has played an important role in my development, along with some valuable nuggets of wisdom from it:

“Rhinoceros Success” by Scott Alexander: This book is a simple yet profound guide to success and embracing a “rhinoceros” mindset. It encourages readers to adopt a bold, determined, and unstoppable approach to life.

1. Embrace your inner rhinoceros: The book uses the metaphor of a rhinoceros to represent a person who charges through obstacles, seizes opportunities, and lives life to the fullest. It reminds us to tap into our strength, determination, and passion to achieve our goals.

2. Take action: Rhinoceroses are known for their assertiveness and ability to take decisive action. The book emphasizes the importance of taking action, being proactive, and not waiting for circumstances to align perfectly. It encourages readers to charge forward, even in the face of uncertainty or fear.

3. Maintain a positive attitude: A positive mindset is crucial for success. The book highlights the importance of maintaining a positive attitude, finding joy in the journey, and focusing on the possibilities rather than dwelling on setbacks. It reminds us that our attitude has a significant impact on our outcomes.
