We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jessie Mignone a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessie, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I took long-term classes on the business side, and then the Influencing side, of Instagram. Between that and hours of doing, observing, paying attention to inspiration-accounts and evolving, I have developed a strong knowledge I can use to give my clients a quality product, and students, easy tips to make a big difference with their pages.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
In 2020 I knew nothing about Instagram. In 2022, I had a full time social media career that enables me to be home with a young family.
Before Instagram I was a celebrity assistant. Before being a celebrity assistant, I was an Upper West Side kid growing up in Manhattan.
I moved to Westchester, New York, when I got married. I cried A LOT that first year. I miss my friends. Where is the good Chinese food? I never bought a car before!
With my Instagram page What’s In Westchester NY, I hope to help transplants, locals and visitors cut that part out and get to the good stuff; new restaurants, activities, etc.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
If you’re a business owner looking to improve your page or interested in becoming an influencer:
1) Get lessons. I mentioned that earlier and I mean it. Most people lose time, and don’t necessarily get ahead, with blind trial and error. Move to the front of the pack and get my one hour lesson that launches most people without needing a second.
2) Take an online phone photography class – or watch a collection of free You Tube videos – to make sure you’re capturing the strongest images for a powerful page. You will also need photo and video editing apps. I recommend Photo Shop Express, Remove, and CapCut.
3) Have 5-10 inspiration accounts. Take inspiration and give it your special twist. Any page you enjoy has a distinct style. What’s unique about you? What do you know a lot about? Share that.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I love collaborating! It’s a terrific way to cross expose audiences and deepen the value of what you’re delivering the audience.
