We were lucky to catch up with CRISEAN recently and have shared our conversation below.
CRISEAN, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I got my resilience from my mother. She always taught me to work hard & to love. Her hard work has kept me safe and very lucky in this life. That’s why I fight. I fight for my loved ones. I keep going for my loved ones. I fight for myself. If I don’t, no one will. All I can do is do the same for myself and my future family.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a singer-songwriter, producer and music artist born in Baltimore, Maryland, with an infusion of Pop/Dance and Soul/R&B. In 2014 Crisean released “Sound Approved” (Demo Edition) – EP his first music project. He has performed in Baltimore, New York, Washington D.C. and has been featured on The Huffington Post. and in the summer of 2018 Crisean released his debut album “Opus: I” on June. 8 2018.
My focus now is creating “lifestyle” content or a “day in the life” content. I have a YouTube channel that i have been working hard creating content on. I’m also on IG and TikTok. I want to empower and inspire thought any artform that I put out.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three things that I have that has been impactful in my journey is that I don’t give up, I am always learning, and I evolve. The only way to improve is to keep working, work on your craft, work at your dream. Don’t be afraid to evolve. Practice does make perfect. Even if you are not planning to release your art, still work on it, and at it.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
The biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months for me is self-control. I have had to deal with a few situations where I really wanted to go off on. I’m a very emotional person, I feel a lot and I react just the same. I have had to control my emotions and really work on my mental gymnastics. I I’m proud of myself. I have come a long way. I liken myself to Professor X working on Jean Grey when she was dealing with the Pheonix force. It was truly breaking down and putting back together mental compartments.
