We recently connected with Ck Bolado and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Ck with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
A strong work ethic is in my blood.
I grew up in a first generation immigrant family that didn’t have a choice but to work hard if they were going to succeed. When you’re raised around that type of energy, it becomes part of who you are.
Ive always felt like it was my duty to honor that legacy by applying the same level of dedication to everything that I do.
As a Mexican American actor, I recognize that I represent more than just my family name; I represent a community and a culture. This awareness fuels my determination to work tirelessly, knowing that I am contributing to something greater than myself.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’ve always been an eclectic person with big dreams, but I’m proud to say that I truly found myself as an actor. I could go on forever about what it is that I love about acting, but for me, being on a film set is where the magic truly happens. I just love the energy and the community on a set. It’s like a giant playground where a bunch of creative adults get to keep their inner child alive. There’s something about the collective pursuit of bringing a story to life that makes me feel like I’m exactly where I need to be. In my opinion, Film represents the pinnacle of collaborative artistry, where each person’s unique talents merge to create something greater than the sum of its parts. To play a role in that, is what it’s all about.
Im currently working on several projects, ranging from fun commercial spots ( sorry if I interrupt your favorite show) to films, and guest appearances on network shows. I can’t reveal much about them yet, but if you’re interested in following the rollercoaster life of a working actor, you can join me @ck.bolado.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The late Alan Rickman told a young group of actors “Forget about acting” he told them to “Go to art galleries, listen to music, know whats happening in the world and form opinions. Develop your taste and judgment so that when a quality piece of writing is put in front of you, your imagination, which you’ve nurtured, has something to bounce off of.” I couldn’t agree more. Being a good student, having discipline and nurturing my imagination have been key. I find it impossible not to be inspired when surrounded by greatness, so my best advice is to choose your role models wisely and surround yourself with an ambitious community. You never want to be the biggest fish in the pond. If you want to become a stronger swimmer, go swim with the sharks!
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m always looking to collaborate with passionate people. There is always something to learn and discover. however Id especially like to collaborate with those who share a passion for amplifying Latino voices and stories in Hollywood. Unfortunately, there’s still a lack of Latino representation in the industry, and I’m committed to being part of the change.
I’m open to collaborating with writers, directors, photographers, painters, and any creators who are dedicated to shedding light on our stories and bringing them to life on screen. Whether it’s through compelling narratives, visually stunning imagery, or thought-provoking art, I believe in the power of storytelling to foster understanding, empathy, and connection across cultures. Together, we can work towards a more inclusive and representative media landscape.
