Meet Jason Ramirez

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jason Ramirez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jason , so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.
I always heard the saying “if you don’t have haters you’re doing something wrong” growing up. I came to the conclusion that there will always be people who doubt you or want to see you fail. However this is your life and if you want something then you need to go through with all the negativity from those people. I remind myself daily of why I started this Instagram page. I want provide value in mens fashion and inspire the next generation to chase their content creation dreams. My purpose is bigger than the fear of what people may think of me. I try to keep a strong mindset and that has helped me on this content creator journey with my page.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hello everyone my name is Jason Ramirez, and I am an aspiring fashion content creator. I’m born and raised here in Phoenix, Arizona. My love for fashion first appeared in high school. I started watching other men’s fashion content creators and began to want to emulate their fashion sense. Later I came across streetwear fashion and I fell in love with it. I decided to take a chance and start an instagram page dedicated solely to streetwear fashion and so Godmirez was born.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities of skills to have for content creation are creativity, honesty, and discipline. Creativity because in order to become a successful creator you have to think outside the box and think of unique ways to stand out from the others in your niche. Honesty because you have to earn an audience and you also can’t steal someone else’s work or else it will ruin your reputation, and that’s not what you want. Lastly you need discipline because there will be times where your posts won’t get the results you want but you have to keep posting consistently to get to the level you want to be at.

Some advice I can give an aspiring content creator would be to connect with as many people as you can. Connect with the people that like, comment, or even share your posts because that’s one key way to build your audience. If they see that you responded to them then they’ll remember you as the guy who responds and will eventually most likely start to support you.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I would love to collaborate with fashion creators here in the valley. Most of my connections are in other states and countries. I would like to have a group here in Arizona so we can motivate each other and share our ideas together. I would want to connect with people that have that go getter attitude, disciplined, and overall positive people who will uplift others.
