Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aaron Pridmore. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Aaron, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
After spending 26 years at a big retailer, I started The SLIDE Podcast as a side project in January 2022. It didn’t take long to realize I could make a difference in kids’ lives all over the country. In August 2022, I got to pitch the idea of Banana Ball Tournaments to The Savannah Bananas. Now, I’m the Banana Ball Tournament Coordinator, and our podcast is taking off. Simply put, I believe I’m here today because it’s where I’m meant to be—helping kids across the nation.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
In today’s youth sports scene, there’s a lot of negativity floating around. That’s why every day, I aim to empower kids to chase their dreams and, hopefully, convince some grown-ups to let them enjoy being kids for as long as they can. Our podcast is all about boosting the confidence of young baseball players, bringing smiles to their faces, and reminding everyone that baseball should be about having a blast.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back on my journey, three key qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge stand out as incredibly impactful:
1. **Fanatical Dedication to Your Project**: Pour your heart and soul into your endeavor. When you’re passionate and committed, it shines through in everything you do.
2. **Strategic Marketing Approach**: Be deliberate and thoughtful about how you promote your work. Understand your audience and tailor your messaging to resonate with them effectively.
3. **Continuous Learning and Adaptation**: The landscape is constantly evolving, so stay curious and be willing to adapt to new trends and technologies. Keep learning, experimenting, and refining your approach.
For those just starting out on their journey, here’s my advice:
**Believe in Yourself**: Even if you doubt your abilities, take the leap anyway. You might be surprised by what you’re capable of achieving.
**Embrace Mistakes as Learning Opportunities**: Don’t let setbacks deter you. Instead, view them as valuable lessons that will ultimately make you stronger and more resilient.
**Stay Focused on Your Goals**: It’s easy to get sidetracked by challenges and obstacles along the way. Keep your eyes on the prize and remain steadfast in pursuing your dreams.
**Know Your Audience Inside and Out**: Understand who you’re creating for and what matters most to them. Tailor your content and approach to meet their needs and preferences.
Remember, the sky’s the limit—so dream big, work hard, and never stop pushing yourself to new heights. Your journey may be challenging at times, but the rewards of perseverance and dedication are immeasurable.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Since we started our show, many companies have approached us for partnerships. I believe it’s crucial to only partner with brands that match our values and appeal to our audience as we grow. Quality over quantity is my priority.
I’m all about building relationships with companies that resonate with our listeners. As someone who loves podcasts, I know how annoying it is when ads or interviews don’t fit the show’s vibe—like talking about mattresses when you’re listening to something else.
Making sure both sides benefit from partnerships is my top priority. If you’re interested in partnering with us, just shoot us an email at [email protected]. We’re excited to collaborate with brands that make our listeners happy.
