Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Maicol Osorio. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Maicol, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
It’s definitely from my mother.
Growing up, I saw her struggle in a new country (the USA), learning the language, raising me, getting her College Associate, and becoming an assistant chemist for a producer of health products for the US Military.
Being around someone with that level of resilience, you absorb some of it. Plus my mom always spoke to me about the hardship of this world.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m Maicol Osorio, a West Palm Beach-based portrait photographer specializing in crafting showstopping headshots, impactful branding, and captivating glamour images. You are more than just a profile picture – YOU are your brand story. Let’s tell your brand story visually. I collaborate with individuals and teams to create a cohesive visual narrative that showcases your professionalism, personality, expertise, charisma, and authenticity.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would say start your journey one step at a time. Take one item and learn it well before adding to that to grow. Also, select your niche.
Find a mentor in that one item and learn everything from them. Once you are ready to move to the next step, find a mentor who excels in the new area you are learning. But always remember to tie them together so you can quickly switch between them.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
This might sound repetitive but my mother. She has always backed me and helped me move forward. When I feel down or have difficulties with learning something or incorporating it into my skill, my mother always tells me this too shall pass. You will overcome this as well.
