Meet Sydney Alleyne

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sydney Alleyne. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Sydney, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose once I fully surrendered my life to God. But let me start from the beginning!

After graduating from Marshall University with my bachelor’s degree in marketing, I assumed I would immediately land my dream job ( whatever that was.) I quickly realized that I just needed to gain work experience. I landed a job as a social media coordinator, but I didn’t see myself working at the organization long-term. I then decided to go back to school to get my masters in strategic communication. Once I graduated from Liberty University, I felt more qualified to work in the corporate world. For the next 4 years, I gained experience in various industries working in different areas of digital marketing.

In 2022, I got to the point where I was constantly stressed and not enjoying what I was doing. In November 2022, I made the choice to fully surrender myself to God, and once that happened, everything changed for the better. Throughout 2023 God, began to reveal my purpose and Kingdom assisgnment.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a digital marketing professional turned disciple and the founder of Digital Marketing Discipleship Movement which encompasses Pertinent Media Group and Let Go, Let God. I have nearly a decade of experience in digital marketing and have worked in various industries — in 2021, I kicked off my entrepreneur journey with my marketing agency, Pertinent Media Group. In November 2022, I fully surrendered my life to God. Let me tell you … I was feeling GOOD! God eventually led me to create my apparel company, Let Go, Let God in May 2023. Following and trusting God’s plan is not easy but has truly been rewarding — I’m grateful to be serving Him in all aspects of my life.
God wasn’t finished yet — in January 2024, the Digital Marketing Discipleship Movement was born. The movement aims to encourage other digital marketing professionals and entrepreneurs to leverage their God-given gifts in an online landscape. It will connect like-minded individuals who are eager to grow their digital marketing skills and serve God.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” -Psalm 46:1. He will provide the clarity and the inner peace we seek.

Aside from my professional career, I am also a wife and mother of two! My husband and I were blessed with our daughter who is now 12 an our son who is 2. I played soccer in college, so I love to play and coach in my spare time. I’m also in love with ice cream! lol

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities I think are important to have is to be resilient, coachable, and hardworking. Once you decide to be an entrepreneur, you become the person who is doing everything. You will make mistakes, so it’s important to be resilient to overcome those minor setbacks. Being coachable will allow to grow. I’ve become very intentional with investing and surrounding myself with people who are where I want to be. I try to soak up as much knowledge as I can.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal clients are churches, entrepreneurs ( doing everything themselves), and new small businesses.
