Meet Cat Powars

We were lucky to catch up with Cat Powars recently and have shared our conversation below.

Cat , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Amidst the trials of lockdowns, like many, I found myself navigating a multitude of challenges and uncertainties. My world was shaken when my dad suffered a serious accident in February 2020, fracturing his back and hip and contracting COVID-19 which led him in and out of the ICU. Once he became stable, I stepped into the role of a temporary caregiver, providing support as he navigated weekly dialysis appointments and the challenge of learning to walk again while sick with COVID confined to my condo.

It was during these trying times that I deepened my passion for holistic and integrative health, immersing myself in extensive research on various healing modalities and plant medicine often misunderstood and overlooked. It went against everything that others seemed to believe in but with the use of this integration, I was able to reverse my dads need for lifelong dialysis by diet, eradicate his pain with the use of hemp and reverse his diabetes.

I had always been fascinated by Traditional Chinese Medicine and getting to the “root cause’ of health issues, but this incident with my dad supercharged my desire to learn more about functional medicine and traditional healing practices.

I believe my purpose in this world is to help people take charge of their health and wellness by educating and sharing my story.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Litty Kitty is a women owned and operated alternative medicine collective. My mission with Litty Kitty is to educate people to embrace the transformative potential of botanicals, fungi, and various traditional healing modalities that are misunderstood.

I stand for conscious consumption and mindfulness, and prioritize transparency. I want to bring awareness on the power of being our own advocates in all facets of our lives all while joyously celebrating authenticity, uniqueness, and the beauty found in the misunderstood. I believe we’re all Litty Kitties and deserve to be seen and live life to the fullest.

We currently sell CBD pre-rolled joints with various organic herbal blends as we keep our eyes on the ever-so-changing cannabis and psilocybin laws. Our herbal tea blends and infused body oils will be launched in the coming months, which I’m so excited about!

Fun Fact: The Litty Kitty logo is comprised of my grandmothers handwriting from a letter she wrote me years ago. She was such a Litty Kitty and having her be part of this brand means the world to me. I’m dedicated to sharing Doll-Baby’s legacy and embodying her ‘Litty-ness’ in all that we do at Litty Kitty, in hopes that her love, warmth, and playful personality continue to inspire and be felt by all.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
These are things I’m still learning and practicing as my journey still continues!

1) Presence – focusing on the “now” instead of dreaming about the future or reliving the past. Its really easy to get distracted, especially for a day dreaming impatient Aries like myself. I’m the queen of manifesting and making vision boards, but have to reel my thoughts back in and remind myself to focus on the present. I’ve noticed when I’m not present, time flies by and then I get anxious and freeze because I missed something important. If I take the time to breathe, listen to my surroundings, and give my full attention to a task, I get more out of life!

2) Consistency / being disciplined / having boundaries- These all go hand in hand and have been a challenge for me! If I’m consistent and disciplined lets say with my morning routine or workouts, I am happier in the long run because I’m taking care of myself and feel better. My mind often tells myself that being disciplined is “boring” because its repetitive (and it totally can be), but I try to see the fun and challenge myself to make whatever boring thing I’m doing into a game. It actually works and the results are worth it.

Do I want that extra glass of wine before bed? Heeeelll Yeah, I do. Do I need it? No. Having boundaries not only with others but with myself has been a game changer.

3) Keep Learning!! – I can’t emphasize this enough – listen to podcasts, read, do research (deep research, not just the first “answer” you find on google). Meet and talk to like-minded people in the community you’re looking to be part of. Go on trips! Or an adventure, even if it’s right outside your neighborhood. You will learn more about yourself if you continue to absorb information. Immerse yourself in the unknown and have fun, write in a journal. In doing this, you will learn about yourself in so many ways. Be grateful, always.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
One of my many goals is to build a community where people can embrace their true authenticity and uniqueness in a safe and loving space. If anyone is interested in collaborating or wants to reach out and learn more about the brand, please do! I would love to connect.

I’m always looking to offer support with small women owned businesses. Boutiques, coffee shops, women circles, music venues, pop up events, journey safe spaces, etc..!
