Meet Nicki Mesenburg

We were lucky to catch up with Nicki Mesenburg recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicki, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
From a young age, I learned that hard work is the key to success. Seeing my dad head out for work every day, facing a long commute of up to 3 hours each way, taught me the value of perseverance and doing whatever it takes to get ahead. He’s been in a union since he was 18, and even now, at 77, he still works part-time because he enjoys it.

My mom was just as hardworking. She’d be up at 5 am and out the door by 7 am, coming back home around 7 pm each night. Despite their busy schedules, my parents always made sure me and my four siblings had everything we needed. Their dedication and strong work ethic have been a huge inspiration to me.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

We are an event coordination and planning company with a focus on weddings, though our expertise extends to a wide range of events from intimate gatherings such as small showers to large-scale community grand openings.

We are excited to announce the addition of a mobile bar service to our offerings. We look forward to showcasing it at numerous events this year, enhancing the experience for our clients and their guests.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Perseverance is essential, especially when it feels like everything is falling apart. Always remember that you don’t know everything, so stay open to learning. Whether it’s watching classes or having coffee with a colleague to gather insights, continuous growth is key.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
Marketing has always been an evolving challenge for me. With so many different channels available, each with its own costs, it’s a constant effort to adapt and ensure my visibility while demonstrating my value.
