Meet Stephanie Sturm

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Stephanie Sturm. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Stephanie below.

Stephanie, thrilled to have you on the platform as I think our readers can really benefit from your insights and experiences. In particular, we’d love to hear about how you think about burnout, avoiding or overcoming burnout, etc.
I overcome or avoid burnout by staying organized in my schedule. I try whenever possible to not work when I am off. Being a small business owner it is sometimes hard to manage. I find that setting boundaries with my schedule is paramount to my sanity. So for instance I used to grab my phone in the morning and start answering work messages and emails which made me feel stressed out first thing in the morning. Now I do not look at my phone until after I am up and ready for the day. I started a routine that allows me some time to wake up, exercise, eat a meal, and shower. Once that is done I am mentally ready to work and I feel so much better sticking to this schedule.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I STARTED HAPPY BROW CO., BECAUSE I WANTED TO CREATE MORE BEAUTY ONE DAY IT CAME TO ME, BROWS MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY & THEN HAPPY BROW COMPANY WAS BORN…
In 2019, I began my journey as a microblading artist. I literally started my business during a pandemic at 40 years old. I didn’t let that discourage me. I instantly fell in love with the feeling I get every time I help someone fall in love with their brows. In the past four years as an artist I have trained with some of the top educators and master artists in the US. I firmly believe that in order to become the best, you have to train with the best. I am committed to continued education to bring my clients the very best techniques and advancements in Permanent Makeup. That is why I got Board Certified with the American Association of Micropigmentation, I wanted to stand out among my peers and deliver beautiful results. I specialize in creating natural eyebrows using facial mapping while matching your natural stroke pattern so brows blend seamlessly.

I have been married to my wonderful and supportive husband for 18 years and we have two beautiful children. Our family enjoys sports and traveling when we get the opportunity. We also have an adorable Yorkie named Coco.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Resilience; I could have easily given up starting my business during a pandemic that shut us all down for over a year. I just told myself, you can sit there and cry about it or you can do something. So that is what I did. I prepared every single day for when I was going to open my business as soon as restrictions were lifted I hit the ground running, and I haven’t stopped since.

2. Customer Service; I truly feel like so many times customer service is not important to many businesses. I strive to change this because without my clients I wouldn’t be here in the first place so I want them to know that they’re appreciated and valued. That is why I work so hard to give the very best results.

3. Learning everyday; I strive every day to improve my craft and always be a student to provide the very, very best in techniques for my clients. This is what sets me apart from the rest.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is anyone who has lost their confidence due to thinning brows. It is amazing how important those little things are. I help people feel better about themselves and save time getting ready.
