Meet Tani Lamb

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tani Lamb. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Tani, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
My self-care involves reformer Pilates, spin classes, infrared saunas, and Thai Massages. I genuinely believe a body in motion stays in motion, and a body at rest stays at rest. A healthy balance of activity and recovery creates an optimal quality of life. A body should move and move often, and physical activity is a healthy avenue to relieving stress. Keeping my body active provides the endurance to complete all my necessary tasks and maintains an excellent level of endorphins. And…. I have enough stamina to walk three hours a day while traveling and the strength to lift my luggage into the overhead bins on airplanes and trains. 🙂

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
It is a big and beautiful world. Most of us live and die in the same corner where we were born and never get to see any of it. I don’t want to be most of us.”

– Prince Oberyn Martell
This quote from Game of Thrones is one of my favorite travel quotes. I am an avid international explorer who decided to turn her insatiable wanderlust into a publishing company. I have self-published two children’s books, T Sees an Island and The Princess of Sapphires & Sand. I have also created a YouTube channel, Travel With Tani, sharing travel tips and destination information. I love history, culture, and delicious food, and much of that is included in my videos because that is often my reason for visiting. I am currently separating my Travel Blog from my primary website, Tanilamb.com, to expand it with more information, advice, and details.
The name of my new travel blog is Anywhereonce.com. Because I am willing to give most destinations at least one shot, I will have a section for itineraries to my favorite cities that you can tweak, like a prearranged travel guide for your holiday. I will include my favorite restaurants, hotels, hidden gems, and tours. Most of my trips have been solo, and I will, of course, add destination tips for solo travelers as well.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Perseverance. Just keep pushing. The journey is complex, and the path to success is often hidden. You will usually never know what someone endured to reach their goals. Select a goal that you are passionate about because it will be that love that keeps you motivated.

Vulnerability. Give yourself a little grace. It is OK to make a mistake, and it is OK if it is not perfect on the first attempt. Your failures will provide room for improvement and growth.

Fearlessness. Just do it! Take the trip, write the book, go on the date, take the position, say hello to a stranger, and start a conversation. Regret is a form of cancer that can never be excised. It can eat at you until the day you die. It is better to try and fail than to never have tried at all.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The impact is not just from my parents but multigenerational. My grandmother instilled a solid work ethic through the old-fashioned rendering of chores in exchange for pay. The money was not just generously handed over either. The meticulous inspection followed before payment, and her pristine white cloth scrutinized every nook and cranny of my cleaning tasks. Payment was not received until the cleaning was completed to her high standards. My Maw-maw instilled integrity, who consistently and calmly told us that your word is your bond and you have nothing once you have lost your character.
My mom is my biggest cheerleader and has always supported my numerous projects. She is always honest yet positive and fair. I know so many women have issues with their mothers, and a strained relationship between mother and daughter can be detrimental to a woman’s self-esteem and self-worth in the long run.
