Meet Juwan Harris

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Juwan Harris a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Juwan , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I developed my confidence and self-esteem through TopLife to be honest. Growing up I was quiet and observant I wasn’t very outspoken but now that I have a business run solely by me it would be a disservice to not be more assertive and outspoken.

The way I developed confidence was realizing, trusting, and believing that nobody could be me better than I could be me. Nobody can act like Juwan better than Juwan so why not try to be the best Juwan? Sure you can get influence from older family members, celebrities, or athletes you are fans of but ultimately nobody can be a better you than you.

Being a business owner I believe you absolutely have to be a confident person because it shows in everything you do as it pertains to your brand. How you promote, how often you post, how you pose in your pictures, even the pricing of your products all come from your confidence level.

A major example of confidence that changed my way of thinking is when Nipsey Hussle made $100,000 by selling 1,000 copies of his mixtape Crenshaw for $100 each. I remember when he did that everyone thought he was crazy but it took confidence for him to see it through and it even got Jay-Z’s attention and he bought 100 copies.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’ve been working on eyewear for the past two years specifically luxury frames and I’m excited to announce the release of my 5 pairs of what I call the “TopLife Vision Lenses”

The name comes from not just my vision being clear and having a vision but the mindset and mentality I feel once I put the glasses on. A mature, boss, executive, and business like mentality. With every pair I wanted people to feel like billionaires, I wanted people to feel important because they know the look the part. It’s all about Aura.

I decided to pursue glasses because when I think about the name TopLife I think about life I think about forever and that inspired me to think to make timeless pieces. Something timeless is something that will never go out of style, something that will always look good no matter what trend is in no matter the year like a good Polo shirt or a Rolex no matter who or what they’re wearing it with it will always look nice.

No matter if you’re a pastor, teacher, coach, hustler, doctor, or even just a man or woman of business once you put them TopLife lenses on you will instantly get the respect you deserve. A

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The best advice I could give is to be consistent, believe in your product even when it might look or feel like no one else does, and don’t be afraid to pivot. As long as you come up with an idea of your own that you love don’t be afraid to do it. People only are going to treat your brand how you present it. It’s cool to overthink but do not over analyze. If you don’t promote your brand everyday who will? If you don’t put 1000% behind your brand how do you expect to be successful? Build relationships and always keep a clean face card.

I’m looking to collaborate with anybody that is willing to create. Anybody interested in doing fashion shows, photoshoots, networking events, anything creative I’m down to collab.
