Meet Krystal Vernee’

We recently connected with Krystal Vernee’ and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Krystal, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
One of the first things I had to learn was that regardless of the room, I belong there. It doesn’t matter if anyone looks like me. While it can be difficult to be the only one of your race or gender in a room, I remind myself that I am there to contribute in a positive manner, whether that is to participate in a discussion, share my expertise, etc. The most important element in my success is remembering that I am capable and to never doubt myself.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a serial entrepreneur, speaker, author, business coach and brand strategist. Simply SHE, my coaching and consulting firm, helps entrepreneurs struggling with inconsistent income earn $10k plus months with a lead generation system. I love being able to share my story and expertise to help others grow their business and live a life they never thought possible. Through my signature coaching program, best-selling book, podcast and TV Show, The Brand BuildHER Blueprint(TM), I’ve been able to help countless entrepreneurs create multiple income streams as well as build a profitable and sustainable business.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three most important qualities that I’ve acquired that were the most impactful in my journey were confidence, resilience, and discipline. I had to develop confidence in myself in order to believe that I could accomplish all that I set out to achieve. I needed resilience when things got tough and everything seemed impossible. When things seemed impossible, I needed discipline to stay the course. For people early in their journey, I encourage them to write down and celebrate their successes. This is your reminder that you have had success in the past and WILL have it again. This will help build your confidence and resilience, which is something that all entrepreneurs need when building their business. Finally, I would encourage those just starting out to learn to see their task, promises and ventures through to the end. Don’t build the habit of abandoning things you’re working on, build the habit of finishing, no matter the outcome. This in turn will build your discipline.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
The coaches and mentors that I’ve hired to help me drive my business forward have been instrumental in helping me develop the skills, qualities and knowledge I’ve needed to be successful.
