Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Courtney Parker-Walters. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Courtney, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
My purpose was found the moment I had my first child at the age of 15 years old. I knew at that moment that I had to beat all odds and do what was best for me and my child. After graduating high school I attended college. I obtain jobs in the customer service industry and it was something I enjoyed doing, helping others. I’ve been helping people succeed in the business industry and finding their purpose for about 6 years now. It’s my passion I love seeing others become successful.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am currently a tax professional and I also assist others with business funding, starting their own business,& I mentor young children in my community. I’m currently working towards open up a couple of tax office across the south. My services are currently virtual for my preparers and I office in person and virtual services for my own clients across the map.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’m a small town country girl who became a mother at 15 years old so I learned responsibilities at the age of 15. I worked at places like McDonald’s,Wendy’s,Hibbett sports,& a few more places. Even though those jobs did not work out for me I learned how to interact with people, communication skills,I also learned the pros & cons of running a business. If I could give anyone any advice “Never give up, You can do all things through Christ.” Nothing is easy and nothing comes to you but trouble. Get up and make the best out of today greatness is ahead of you.”
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
I would have to say outside of my husband, family & friends Jasmine Henderson is one of the many reasons I am where I’m at today. A total stranger took me under her wing and molded me into the best version of myself.
