We were lucky to catch up with Micchi Berry recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Micchi with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
i’ve always received my work ethic from my family. My parents led very successful careers and lives and always taught me how to gain success in whatever you do. They always taught me to never be lazy because laziness will never accomplish your goals and won’t get you far in life. Plus I’m a very goal oriented person so I always felt the need to have a great work ethic in order to achieve those goals.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Hey my name is Micchi Berry. I am an actor, model, and musician. Growing up I’ve always been in love with the arts and always was in tune with my creative side. From singing to acting to playing piano, there was always something artistic i had to be doing. Right now I feel like I am all over the place. I have some upcoming projects in the acting space. I’ve been doing a lot of model projects with MILARRI a luxury designer brand. Of course I have been writing music as well.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three skills I possess that have been the most impactful are being consistent, persistent, and resilient. Without these qualities, there isn’t any opportunity for success. Also my best advice that i tell people is that you need to have the willingness to accept that it’s going to be hard. Accomplishing your goals and dreams is never easy. You can’t have success without experiencing failure. Failure is inevitable and necessary for learning and growth. Also one more thing about success is that you need to be careful who you surround yourself with. Be around people you want to learn from. You always want to be the least smartest in the room. If you are the smartest person in the room that means you aren’t learning and without learning you won’t accomplish anything.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
This has always been a tough question for me. Not because I don’t know the answer but because i have so much I want to say. But I will say this that yes I am adopted. Pretty much without me being adopted and put in the hands of their control, I know for a fact that i would’ve been a messed up person and would not have thrived in this world and for that i am forever grateful.
