We were lucky to catch up with Pamela Whitfield recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Pamela with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My mother. I’ve always been taught if a man doesn’t work he doesn’t eat. I’ve worked since I was 13. I pride myself in everything that I do. And I allow my work to speak for itself. You won’t outwork me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
We are Buy Your Side Catering Co. The name says it all. Once you hire us we’re family and we got you. Our company offers unique catering experiences with not only delicious food and table decor but attention to detail at every level of our customer service. To leave a lasting impression on you and your guests it always our utmost desire.
We prepare everything from southern classics to upscale dining with five star service. From large corporate events to an intimate dinner for two we give each customer the same level of service.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Study your craft. Your gift makes room for you. Never stop learning.
Whatever your passion is don’t stop, breathe exhale and regroup but don’t stop.
Don’t worry about the no’s your yes will come. It only takes one yes to change your life.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
We love a good collaboration. We are looking for amazing chefs, event planners, bartenders, coordinators, servers to expand not just our business but theirs as well. There’s always enough room at the top. Together, we all succeed.
