We recently connected with Michaela Romano-Smith and have shared our conversation below.
Michaela, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
Definitely my parents and grandparents. One set of my grandparents were entrepreneurs and another set of grandparents were immigrants and all worked very hard to be successful and provide for their families. My parents had the same mentality and overall work ethic which I learned from a young age.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a Travel, Food, Lifestyle Influencer & Blogger who loves to share my overall passionate for all things travel & tourism, hospitality and food related. I have traveled to over 15 states and over 12 countries within 5 continents – I enjoy traveling to new places, trying new restaurants as well as being a tourist in my own city. I also love discovering fun and unique things to do/tours/experiences. I also love connecting with others online and in-person, sharing my authentic day to day and having thoughtful conversations with others.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities/skills/areas of knowledge that were the most impactful in my journey was passion, confidence and basic photography/social media skills. My simple advice would be to find your true passion and share that passion with confidence. I learned and mastered the very basics of social media from an early age but even I still have a lot to learn. Give yourself grace and feel comfortable with trial and error if you need to learn social media (or something else) from the very beginning.
