Meet Lindsey Wellman

We were lucky to catch up with Lindsey Wellman recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lindsey, sincerely appreciate your selflessness in agreeing to discuss your mental health journey and how you overcame and persisted despite the challenges. Please share with our readers how you overcame. For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
I started this Micro Bakery as a way to not only bake bread for my family but to provide nourishing food for those around me. I wanted to take care of people in a way that I wanted to be taken care of. Having a difficult pregnancy led to Post Partum depression and the Stronger Than Your Mind Academy. I credit Nicola Parker’s strategies with saving my life and helping me create this business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As a Micro Bakery owner my main goal was to provide gut healthy bread to those who also wanted to be more conscious of what they are putting in their bodies. Sweet Lady Jane’s Bakery was born from the idea that healthy alternatives can fuel a change in your entire body and even your mental health! I recently purchase the Simply Bread Oven (made right here in the US in California!) and am so excited to be a part of their growing community of bakers! I want to influence those who want to follow their dreams despite their mental health stuggles.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, this was a skill that I did not possess but I love learning new skills. Watching other micro bakers and learning from videos and ebooks so have not only taught myself how to bake, I’m also passing these skills on to my daughter, Cora Jane.

My best piece of advice if you want to start something you’ve never tried before, jump in feet first! Do the things that scare you and surround yourself with those who will support you!

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My parents have been such a huge influence in my life. One of the most impactful things they have ever done for me, they have never stopped believing in me. From school to sports and now to this Micro Bakery, they have always been my number 1 fan. My husband, Luke, is right there with them cheering me on every step of the way. I couldn’t be more surrounded by love and support!
