We were lucky to catch up with Carla Gamble recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Carla, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism comes from being alive and well. I am constantly inspired by the blessings God gives me everyday. I have a great family, amazing friends and a wonderful work and home life where I’m constantly thriving. I am optimistic about my future and all of the great things I am here to do in the world.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Carla Gamble Singer /songwriter from Philadelphia.
I am also known as the Vibe Specialist with the ability to create vibes such as free styling with or without music.
I am a Virgo with a huge personality, reserved but also passionate about being around good energy and communication.
I released an album titled “She is” in 2022 followed by an EP titled “SoulSthetic” early this year 2024. Philly has been such a great place for me to grow and learn about myself and my music. It truly means the world to me when I know people are playing my music and singing my lyrics. My heart smiles:). You can expect to see me a lot this year with appearances at world cafe live, city winery, Milkboy, Xponential fest (WXPN), Wawa Welcome America, Jazz on the Ave & many more.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would say patience, learning myself and doing my best to stay grounded were definitely some of the skills I practiced during my music journey. As a creative person you can’t always explain how you feel or what you going through to everyone because they won’t understand. My advice to anyone in early stages of music or building their own business is to believe in your vision, stay focused on the goal and tap into a higher power for guidance and strength. You got this!
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was SUPPORT ME. When my dad was alive, he came out to my shows and watched me perform all the time. My mom is very active in my life and music life. She supports me with her love, kindness and presence, I absolutely love when she knows the lyrics to my songs lol.
