We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Steven Picanza a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Steven, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I’m into studying philosophy and the impact it has had on my business career has been immeasurable. Resilience is getting up after getting pushed down. It’s staying on your strategy to do the right thing. The correlation between my personal journey of resiliency and what I do for a living as a brand strategist is uncanny.

Steven has spent more than a decade helping brands identify and bring their purpose to life through evocative ideas, award-winning campaigns, and compelling consumer experiences. While he specializes in building, repositioning, and marketing brands, his background is diverse (by design!) with roles in creative brand strategy, brand planning, and experience design.
Over the past 15+ years of working in branding, Steven has collaborated with notable clients including Holland America Line, Dude Wipes, MGM International, Dr Teals, The Art of Shaving, IDG Media, and GSK.
Additionally, he hosts the ‘Talking w/ Branders Podcast’ for Branders Magazine and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Branding.
