Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natalie Pappas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Natalie, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I definitely attribute my work ethic from my parents. My father is currently in retirement age and still working. He has been in his profession for over 60 years and to me that is beyond impressive. Even at 80 years young, he still commutes over an hour and half one way to work because he loves what he does. My mother worked two jobs to get ahead and plan for her future, was head of household, and showed me the value of hard work. She taught me the foundations of being a female entrepreneur and finding the ability to be financially independent.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
The driveN Agency is a boutique model/talent agency in Los Angeles representing individuals for commercials and print. I would say our niche is the ability to stay current in an ever changing industry as well as what is our most important mantra. “Beauty is beyond black and white it is colorful”, meaning that we are an agency of inclusion, acceptance, and diversity. We embrace beauty in all shapes, sizes, colors and we love learning about what sets you apart. We seek “driven” individuals that have a passion for being their unique selves and wish to share their creativity with the world. If #areyoudriveN you can apply for representation @ www.drivenagencyla.com, and click on the “submit” tab.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think the most important skills to help shape my journey were communication, confidence, commitment, the three C’s. Never be afraid to ask for help and speak up to others for guidance. Develop the confidence in yourself and hold strong on your vision. Even if others may throw obstacles in your path, or reveal their true colors, always trust your gut instincts and have faith. Finally, commit to making your journey better than what you personally have experienced in your past, especially if you are on a journey to help others. Always strive for greatness and forgive yourself when necessary. I always say, living in Los Angeles especially, you need to ride the waves. Smile during the highs and hold on tight during the lows, because it will all make you a stronger person in the end.
How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
Recently I have been faced with staffing issues, but I know that this too shall pass. With a high turn over rate in this business, it is difficult to find long term commitment at times with agents and assistants. However, it is my plan and vision that the ideal candidate will come along that loves this industry as much as I do.
