Meet Dulce Camacho

We were lucky to catch up with Dulce Camacho recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Dulce, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
My ability to take risks developed through a combination of passion for baking, believing in my skills, ability to grow, and willingness to embrace uncertainty. Despite facing doubts my determination to pursue my dream will outweigh any fear of failure. It’s never a failure if you learn something from it. Additionally, working years in the food industry from trainee to management has led me to gain confidence from previous experiences. I trust my perserverance and passion to make the right risks.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hi everyone thankyou for taking the time to read this about my brand and self. I would describe myself as always cheerful, playful but also very passionate and hardworking. I love to help others and help whenever I can. This ambition has led me to find my purpose after going through some tragic events in my life. “The sun will always shine after the storm” At the moment, I am doing a dual degree pastry arts and business management. I have learned so much on my own and made Dreams Bakery into a successful business so far, but I have so many ideas so much more to grow. I want to make sure my bakery is known for always having the best quality, fresh products, traditional yet a variety of desserts from around the world. I want everyone to be able to have the cutest party treats at their events! Besides, being a business owner, college student and a few other projects, I am a mom. My family is my priority and the reason why my business is going to make it big. They are my biggest supporters! The goal is to make it a family ran business. I love cooking so I hope to have a bakery/cafe where I can also teach baking/business workshops to guide people in the community get started with their goals..

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Persistence Positive
Self-Inspiration

Some advice I can suggest for someone starting their journey is to:
Set clear goals and break them down to manageable steps. Having a clear vision will help maintain focus and motivation.
Embrace challenges they are inevitable, but essential for growth. View obstacles as opportunities to learn and improve.
A positive mindset should be at the top of the list. Negativity will get you nowhere in the long run. Focus on what you can control, practice gratitude, and celebrate small victories along the way. I will briefly describe the others before I take up pages ha ha ha.
Seek inspiration, build a support system, stay flexible, practice self care, by incorporating these strategies they can cultivate the resilience and inner strength to navigate challenges and persevere toward their goals.

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
I always pray for doors to open, but when they do will I have all the skills acquired to take advantage? I personally believe that striving to be well rounded involves recognizing and addressing areas of weakness to achieve overall growth and success. Just as taking a public speaking class can improve communication skill, or acquiring knowledge about the pros and cons of a specific industry before starting a business can enhance decision making and mitigate risks. By seeking to strengthen weaknesses and broaden knowledge, one can better navigate challenges and seize opportunities in their endeavors.
