We were lucky to catch up with Saad Kassis Mohamed recently and have shared our conversation below.
Saad, thrilled to have you on the platform as I think our readers can really benefit from your insights and experiences. In particular, we’d love to hear about how you think about burnout, avoiding or overcoming burnout, etc.
For me, it’s been a journey of self-discovery and learning to prioritize my well-being amidst the demands of work and life. Here are a few key strategies that have helped me: Learning to say no when necessary and carving out dedicated time for relaxation and personal activities has been crucial. Establishing clear boundaries between work and personal life allows me to recharge and maintain balance.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As Chairman of WeCare Foundation, I am deeply invested in our mission to promote sustainability and ethical responsibility.
What excites me most about our work at WeCare is the opportunity to pioneer innovative funding models and support emerging researchers and startups. We’re able to address environmental concerns and promote ethical sourcing practices, ultimately shaping the future of the industry.
Looking ahead, I envision WeCare playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of the lab-grown diamond industry. By collaborating with industry partners and leveraging external support, we aim to drive positive change and create a more sustainable and ethical supply chain.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Resilience has allowed me to navigate through challenges and setbacks, emerging stronger and more determined than before. In the face of adversity, it’s important to maintain a positive mindset and persevere towards your goals.
Adaptability is essential in today’s rapidly changing world. Being open to new ideas, embracing change, and learning from experiences are key aspects of adaptability. Flexibility allows us to thrive in diverse environments and seize opportunities as they arise.
Empathy is a cornerstone of effective leadership and collaboration. Understanding and connecting with others on a deeper level fosters trust, cooperation, and mutual respect. By prioritizing empathy in our interactions, we can build stronger relationships and create positive impact in our communities.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
In my journey, I’ve been fortunate to have the support and guidance of many individuals who have played pivotal roles in helping me overcome challenges and develop essential skills. Among them, my mentors and advisors have been particularly influential.
Their wisdom, experience, and encouragement have provided invaluable insights and guidance, helping me navigate complex situations and make informed decisions. Their mentorship has not only equipped me with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed but has also instilled in me a sense of confidence and resilience.
Additionally, I’m grateful for the support of my colleagues, friends, and family, who have been unwavering in their belief in me and my vision. Their encouragement, feedback, and camaraderie have been instrumental in my growth and development.
Ultimately, it’s the collective support of these individuals that has enabled me to overcome challenges and achieve success. I am deeply grateful for their mentorship, friendship, and unwavering support.
