We were lucky to catch up with Lana Van recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lana, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I believe most of our time here on earth is dedicated to exploring, finding, and understanding our purpose. I occasionally run into those moments of existential crisis, and I ask myself all those big questions: Why are we here? What’s the meaning behind it all? How long do we have? I try not to fall into that immensely deep rabbit hole, and instead focus on self reflection. I have had to ask myself time and time again what matters most to me and what brings me joy. “Purpose” is a beautiful combination of the things we love and are passionate about, skills we have, and how we can give those things to those around us. From a young age I wanted to make and create things- drawing, painting, makeup, design, etc. it’s at the center of who I am, who I have wanted to be, and the person I continue to evolve into. With age my values and interests have changed, but I recognize and value my artistic strengths and have continued to pursue them in so many different ways. I love the act of creating, transformation, and also spreading joy to those around me, When I imagine the life I want to live, I finally see how close I am to realizing those dreams. I am a small business owner, I get to make people look and feel beautiful, and I get to make art everyday. Whether it’s brows, lashes, facials, permanent makeup, or coloring at home with my daughter in my free time, I feel purpose and purposeful. I will never be able to simply describe my purpose, but as long as I can continue to cultivate the things that bring me happiness, while also making a meaningful difference in the word, then I will feel whole.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a small business owner, esthetician, and permanent makeup artist. I am focused on the art of transformation, innovative aesthetics, and bespoke beauty, I am always focused on education and bringing my clients the newest technology and results driven treatments. Whether it’s brows, lashes, or skin, I want my clients to have the best experience possible. With my knowledge and training I take great pride in curating a special experience for each person that walks in my door. Not only is it an elevated and luxurious environment, it is also an inclusive, safe and healing space. I love to learn about and connect with my clients, hear their amazing stories, and share mine too. I truly am so grateful for all the support and incredible relationships that I have built and those that continue to grow. I specialize in brow lamination, nano brows, lip blushing, lash lifts and transformative skin treatments. I work in beautiful La Jolla where I am able to keep up with my wonderful San Diego Clients, and I also have a studio in the heart of Old Town Temecula. I have new skin treatments as well as permanent makeup treatments that will be debuting this year, so keep on the lookout!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think the most important qualities to have on a journey towards success in your career are drive, passion, and a quest for knowledge. What matters most is identifying who you are, or who you want to be, and how to get there. In order to do that you need to always remember your “why” and stay motivated. I strive to always keep that fire burning inside me as far as what inspires me and keeps me at the forefront of my industry. With that being said it is also so important to always keep learning! Continuing your education in any field is a must and I truly believe that is what makes my job so exciting. I am always looking to expand my knowledge and expertise, and remember that I am an appreciating asset with each new thing I learn!

I absolutely love meeting people to partner and collaborate with! I love creating content whether it’s photography or videos and the creative process that comes with it.
