We were lucky to catch up with Adrianna MacGregor recently and have shared our conversation below.
Adrianna, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I believe the only purpose in life is to be in service to others. Now, I say that and people are going to ask me how certain things I do in my life are connected to that as they would seem unrelated, but I think that everything I do to make my life better will someday be of use to someone else.
When I was little, I found comfort in organization. My barbies had organized closets, my EasyBake Oven was always cleaned and put away after making brownies, and I LOVED to organize and reorganize my desk drawers. As I got older, I noticed myself cleaning out friends’ refrigerators, hall closets, and the like…sometimes with their permission and sometimes not! After I would finish my impromptu projects, my friends would all say something along the lines of “oh, I feel so much better now!” They didn’t even know how their cluttered areas were affecting them negatively until they were uncluttered.
Since I was able to see the emotion/mental aspect early on, I continued to learn and grow, and add to my skills because, first and foremost, it makes my life better. And when my life is better and I am taking care of myself, I show up for others 100% and can share with them what I have learned which helps them so much more than just throwing out expired condiments and installing new organizing techniques.
My purpose is to help others learn and grow by walking the path before I teach them to do it.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
What you should know is that all the fancy initials after my name simply mean, that not only am I an expert organizer but I am also a certified Master Practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Master Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Master Success and Life Coach.
Basically, I’m your one stop shop for creating peace and balance in all areas of your life whether that’s helping declutter your physical space so that your home feels neat and tidy, or unraveling the mental blocks that keep you stuck so your mind feels calm and more motivated in this season of your life. When you don’t know where to start, or you find yourself saying “I feel overwhelmed with life”, I’m your lifeline to a healthier, happier, and clutter-free life.
If you’re ready for a straight-forward, don’t hold back, no BS type of coach, then you’re my new favorite person and I’m SOUL glad you’re here. I don’t believe in wasting time and like to get right down to business once I know your goals.
I help my clients become aware of the patterns that make them feel like a hot mess and help them rewrite their story for massive breakthroughs and success. As someone who has personally struggled with overwhelm and motivation, I have cracked the code at staying organized and happy within my own life and I want the same for you!
How do I do this? I see the forest for the trees when you can’t. I help you start when all you could do is sit in overwhelm. I help you gain clarity on your outcome and show you the steps/actions to take to get you moving toward your dreams!
Soul & Space is designed to help women step out of overwhelm and step into balance and joy.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
In this day and age, we are bombarded by input from all types of sources. We have decision fatigue, we own too much “stuff”, and we were told we could do it all…but we weren’t taught how to ask for help.
Learning how to quiet the “noise” and to take breaks from the electronic leashes we have all agreed are just a way of life now, has been integral to me discovering my true desires. Learning how to meditate, or take walks without listening to music or podcasts, or driving without calling someone to “keep me company”, gave me back an awareness of my intuition and inner-knowing.
Keeping an organized house and letting go of the “I may need that one day” thinking has helped me create a sanctuary in my personal space. I work with people who are shopaholics, who have inherited clutter from deceased relatives, who have downsized but never actually down-sized…they all didn’t know where to start. The overwhelm was real and they felt stuck in the clutter. I teach simple tools to allow my clients to feel empowered to take back their personal space.
I also debunk the lie that “we can do it all”. It isn’t a lie so much as cinder blocks tied to our feet that drag us down. While we might, in fact, be able to do it all why would you want to? Ask for help! Use your resources to automate, delegate, and delete. Getting help and working together not only brings relationships closer but it also makes you happier!
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed the first thing I do is bring awareness to the feeling(s) that I am experiencing. You cannot accept what you are not aware of. Once I understand what I am feeling, I make a list of whatever is dancing in my head and creating those feelings.
Being in a state of overwhelm is almost always because we are looking at the big picture rather than just the next step. So, once I have my list I look at it to decipher what is the very next ONE step I can take. And then I do that. And then I find the next step. And so on. Chunking down is my most useful habit and then taking action, step by step, helps me get out of overwhelm and back to feeling motivated and energized.
