Marquis Alexander , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I would say it started at a young age. I was born in 1995, in St.Louis MO with a very loving and supportive family. I was molested at age of 7 & 11 and physically and mentally bullied. I begin having anxiety at age 15 and even went through depression wanting to commit suicide from not telling or talking to anyone about my situation . When I got older around 18 I came clean and spoke the truth to my family and parents about what I been through. I feel this was events of my breaking point to help me realize I am who I am unapologetically and will be what I want to be regardlessly. After enduring, what I did at such a young age I had the confidence of a tiger in which no one or nothing could get in the way of what I set out to be. Thanking GOD to this day it still stands the same.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am an Actor & Entertainer. All the way up until I was 10 I wanted to be a Lawyer, but thanks to “That’s So Raven” on Disney channel it helped me to see my calling which was my true gifts of Acting. After realizing this gift, from grade school to high everyone seen this true authentic gift and calling for acting.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The areas I was most impactful on was knowing everything wouldn’t go your way. You have to truly trust the process and know what’s meant for you will happen the way needed. So many times I tried to force, rush or expedite, but looking back that only prolongs the process and takes away form lessons you need to learn or go through to get to where you want to.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Putting GOD first and having my supportive family and friends have gone a long way.
