We recently connected with Nyree Allen and have shared our conversation below.

Nyree , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I get resilience from both side of my family, most my dad side because they’re all fighter.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Nyree Allen, I am 29 years old, I am from Detroit Michigan born and raised,I’ve been producing for 10 years, and I’ve been a DJ for 7 years. When I was young I was exposed to many things that influenced my creativity with music, video games, movies, and TV Shows. In my early days listen to music I’ve always wanted to make/produce it but didn’t consider as a career until highschool, my thing was drawing and sketching characters from cartoons I’ve watched. When I got into highschool my major was art, I tried to get minor in music but was denied so I didn’t have the privilege of learning music production early like some my fellow producers I am friends with as of now. My first introduction to dubstep music was through friend of mind in highschool, he asked me “aye bro you ever heard of dubstep?” I replied “naww what’s that?” He played a track and it blow my mind after that I knew I wanted to produce it! Along my music journey I try to spread positive, unity and freeing of the mind with my music because that how I feel when I listen to music.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My biggest 3 skills I’m knowledgeable on are art, music and video game. What I tell people that start out with anything is research, practice, think outside the box, and stay true to yourself, never try to be like others and don’t compare yourself, be in competition with yourself.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Who been there is my mom and close friends, they’ve push me to be better as a person and musical. I draw inspiration from them alot, I try to convey emotions and experiences through my music. I’m still learning and meeting great people along my journey!
