We were lucky to catch up with Leticia Vicotti recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Leticia, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Overcoming imposter syndrome? It’s not a one-time victory but a daily journey, especially in a field as dynamic and competitive as marketing. Truly, can anyone say they never feel that twinge of doubt, that whisper of ‘not being enough’? With so many talented individuals around, it’s a common challenge.
For me, battling these feelings is akin to nurturing my faith—it requires daily cultivation. Each day presents a new opportunity to grow in confidence and self-esteem. And in this growth, I find it essential to lean on God. My faith is my foundation; without it, I’d be adrift. It reminds me that I am crafted with a purpose, and equipped for every task ahead.
So, rather than overcome, I navigate through my feelings of imposter syndrome by continuously fostering faith and confidence, trusting that with each step, I’m not just enough—I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a dedicated social media strategist specializing in empowering business owners. My work revolves around helping these incredible people amplify their voices and expand their digital presence, ensuring they can connect authentically with their audiences while staying true to their unique brand stories. What excites me most is the opportunity to witness and contribute to the transformation and growth of their businesses through strategic social media management. Each success story fuels my passion and reinforces the importance of what I do.
Grounded in my Christian faith, my approach integrates ethical practices and heartfelt dedication, aiming to uplift and inspire every client I work with. I believe in the power of community and support, which are essential in the entrepreneurial journey.
I’m also thrilled to share that I’ve recently launched a mentorship program, ‘The Ropes To Become A Successful Social Manager.’ This initiative is designed to guide new social media managers through the complexities of the industry, helping them to skip some of the common hurdles and accelerate their path to success. It’s more than just business growth; it’s about building confidence and fostering sustainable strategies that resonate on a deeper level with their audience.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Adaptability: The digital landscape is ever-evolving, and staying adaptable allows you to navigate changes effectively. It’s not just about keeping up with trends; it’s about being open to revising your strategies in response to new data and client feedback.
2. Empathy: Understanding your audience on a deeper level is crucial. Empathy lets you craft messages that resonate, build stronger relationships, and effectively address your audience’s needs and desires. It’s about seeing beyond the data to the human experience behind each interaction.
3. Strategic Thinking: Being able to see the big picture and plan several steps ahead is vital. Strategic thinking involves more than just planning posts; it’s about envisioning long-term goals and reverse-engineering the steps needed to get there. This ensures every action is purposeful and contributes to broader objectives.
For those early in their journey, my advice would be to embrace change rather than resist it, spend time listening to your audience, and learn how to design strategies that align with these goals

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my mother did for me, as a single mom, was teaching me the invaluable lesson of pursuing what I want with determination and resilience. Financial stability wasn’t a luxury we enjoyed, so from a young age, I learned the importance of working for my desires.
A vivid memory that stands out is when the first iPod was released. I was about 13, and like many kids my age, I desperately wanted one. While my classmates received theirs as gifts, I knew that wouldn’t be my path. When I asked my mom, her response was straightforward, “Girl, you are going to need to work for it because I don’t have the resources to buy you one.” That summer, I babysat two boys five days a week. By summer’s end, I had earned enough to buy the iPod myself.
Another significant example was my dream of having a grand 15th birthday party and wanting to fly my grandmother from Brazil to the U.S. for it. Despite the financial impracticality, my mother’s initial reaction of disbelief didn’t deter me. I mobilized our community, handled decorations, sourced affordable dresses, and worked weekends to fund it. Not only did we manage to host the party, but we also covered my grandmother’s travel and beauty expenses for the event.
These experiences, guided by my mother’s teachings, ingrained a deep sense of resilience in me. They taught me that with creativity, hard work, and the support of your community, you can achieve your dreams, no matter the odds.
