We were lucky to catch up with Darice Anderson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Darice, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose through a journey of dedication, experience, and an unwavering commitment to community service. Over my 21 years in the non-profit sector, I’ve relentlessly pursued positive impact. The creation of our highly sought-after entrepreneur training program was a pivotal moment, reflecting my passion for empowering individuals. Looking ahead, I envision expanding this program to youth, furthering our mission of empowerment.
The upcoming Entrepreneur Conference and Pitch on May 18, 2024, and our impactful Summer Program are key milestones in our journey. These events exemplify our dedication to providing valuable opportunities and insights into entrepreneurship for youth and adults alike.
Another significant event is our Tyler event on July 13, featuring the Young Adult Conference and Pitch Competition. This event underscores our commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among young adults.
These milestones, along with media features and accolades, showcase our commitment to community development and collaboration. My journey is a testament to determination, dedication, and resilience, inspiring others to find their purpose and make a difference in their communities.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As the Executive Director of 3-N-1 Trinity Services, I am deeply committed to empowering youth and adults in our community. What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to create positive change and make a tangible difference in people’s lives. Our organization is dedicated to providing innovative programs and services that help individuals develop essential skills and achieve their full potential.
One of the most exciting aspects of our work is our Youth Development Program for 8-16 year olds. This program partners with five non-profits to offer a transformative array of services, including Leadership Development, Etiquette, Manners, Employment Skills, and Arts/Crafts. Our aim is to positively impact the lives of over 200 children through our summer program and year-round services, provided free of charge to underserved and underprivileged youth and teens.
In addition to our Youth Development Program, we also offer an Entrepreneur Training Program that has been incredibly successful. This program helps individuals transform their ideas into viable businesses and has become one of our most sought-after programs. We are also excited to announce upcoming events, such as the Entrepreneur Conference and Pitch on May 18, 2024, and the Tyler event on July 13 featuring the Young Adult Conference and Pitch Competition. These events will provide valuable networking opportunities and insights into entrepreneurship for our participants.
Our organization is dedicated to collaboration and community development. We believe that by working together with other non-profits, we can create a lasting impact and empower individuals to become valuable assets in their communities and beyond.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back on my journey, I believe that three qualities that were most impactful were determination, adaptability, and a strong sense of purpose. These qualities helped me navigate challenges, stay focused on my goals, and remain flexible in the face of change.
For those who are early in their journey, my advice would be to cultivate these qualities and skills:
Determination: Stay committed to your goals, even when faced with obstacles or setbacks. Remember that challenges are opportunities for growth and learning.
Adaptability: Be open to change and willing to embrace new opportunities. The ability to adapt to different situations and environments is key to success in any field.
Purpose: Identify your passion and purpose, and let it guide your decisions and actions. Having a clear sense of purpose will help you stay motivated and focused on your goals.
In addition to these qualities, I would also recommend seeking out mentors and learning from others who have walked a similar path. Surround yourself with positive influences and never stop learning and growing.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes, we are always open to partnering and collaborating with individuals and organizations who share our passion for empowering youth and adults. We are particularly interested in collaborating with non-profits, businesses, and community organizations that can help us expand our reach and impact.
We are looking to collaborate with organizations that focus on youth development, education, entrepreneurship, and community development. Whether you are a non-profit offering complementary services, a business looking to support our programs, or a community organization interested in partnering on events or initiatives, we would love to hear from you.
