We were lucky to catch up with Travis Love recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Travis, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
When I was younger I was always a determined individual I grew up in a strict household my mother would make us do chores and keep our rooms clean every Sunday. I guess that kind of translated into me being an adult. I also have a great passion for what I do so that helps a lot. I often think I’m not working hard enough
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m travis love artist and designer I’m originally from Atlanta Georgia I studied in graphic design and branding/advertising I love the outdoors and hanging with family and friends. I also have a great appreciation for art history and mythology I love movies and film. Sometimes I could be to myself but I also like to mingle as well and socialize. Travel is also very important to me I think it’s very important that we experience other walks of life to appreciate our own.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Some of the major lessons that I’ve learned over the years throughout my life is that your attitude determines “your gratitude which determines your latitude”. That is something that helps me always appreciate waking up every day. After acquiring success and seeing how fickle it can be as well as friendships I’ve learned to not put my trust in man but to allow the world to spin with out me trying to control it. Another important thing that I have also come to realize is that what you have to offer the world is where your success lies we are all here to offer our services to one another so learning new skills and staying teachable and malleable has become of great importance to me.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
The best advice I could give to Creative‘s and art directors that have experience being overwhelmed or flustered throughout the project is to take a step back and breathe. Analyze the project objectives and look at your approach. I think creating a good process and having a good team that you are able to feel appreciated within is very helpful. Surrounding yourself with like-minded minded Individuals that inspire you is also very helpful. Being able to step back and take a break is very important, it’s easy to be consumed with in a project after investing hours and hours on end but it is important to zoom out And not get too consumed by the task.
