We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Laurine Lambert. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Laurine below.
Laurine, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Growing up, I always had a fascination with storytelling through film. Pursuing my dream, I made the decision to study film production in the US. It was during this time that I truly discovered my purpose in life. My journey to finding my purpose has been shaped by my dedication to storytelling through film. Despite facing rejections and setbacks, particularly during auditions, I’ve persevered, fueled by a deep-seated passion for the craft of acting. Many actors are familiar with the sting of rejection, and I’m no exception. However, instead of letting these setbacks deter me, I’ve used them as opportunities for growth and self-discovery.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a storyteller. Whether I’m in front of the camera, behind it, or somewhere in between, my passion lies in bringing narratives to life through film and television. I’m focused on my craft as an actor and filmmaker, constantly seeking out new opportunities to collaborate and create stories. Currently, I’m excited to be involved in a few upcoming projects. I’ve lived in Paris for a year working in different French productions.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My advice for those early in their journey is to cultivate resilience by maintaining a positive mindset, learning from failures, and staying committed to passion despite obstacles. Networking has not only opened doors to opportunities but also provided support, guidance, and mentorship along the way. Certainly, one of the most impactful qualities in my journey has been courage and a willingness to take risks, especially when faced with the challenge of being alone in different countries. This quality has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone, pursue my dreams, and embrace new opportunities, even in unfamiliar and sometimes daunting environments.
Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
In the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been adapting to and thriving in a new country once again. Moving alone to Cannes and then to Paris presented unique challenges, especially in working in the film industry and acting in French. The transition required me to navigate unfamiliar environments, establish new connections, and overcome language barriers, all while pursuing my passion for film. And while the journey has had its share of ups and downs, the experience of living in such diverse and vibrant cities has been immensely transformative, shaping me into a more confident, resilient, and culturally aware individual.
