Lee, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
My journey towards discovering my ultimate career path has been quite unconventional, but incredibly fulfilling. While I’ve always harbored a desire to be on stage, my lack of talent in singing, dancing, or acting made me rethink my approach. I wanted to lead people and be my own boss on my own stage. Teaching aerobics and spinning, where I could channel my energy and enthusiasm into guiding others was the first step.
Despite having strong energy, I’ve never quite fit the mold of a typical corporate employee. This realization pushed me to explore avenues where I could thrive authentically. Teaching spinning ignited a passion for speaking and training. I found immense joy in sharing knowledge, motivating others, and rocking awesome tunes. Side note: I also used all of my earnings to save for my daughter to go to college.
Throughout the high school years of my children, I discovered a special connection with teens; I am drawn to their energy and potential.
Like many families I soon became aware of the college admissions process’s complexities and anxieties. Witnessing the confusion and stress families endured and the dynamic nature of college admissions ignited a new purpose within me. I fell in love with visiting colleges. Learning about what colleges are looking for in their students and finding hidden gems when visiting schools that are not listed on the “ratings” opened a world that I never knew existed. I felt compelled to leverage my energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to support families in navigating this daunting journey while saving them money wherever possible.
In essence, my journey has been a series of serendipitous discoveries, leading me to a path where I can merge my performance, teaching, and guiding others with traveling and discovering colleges and universities all over the world with a meaningful purpose of easing the burdens of college admissions for families.
I love what I do…and it took me until age 50 to find my purpose.
