Daniel, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

My father was a serial entrepreneur who started multiple businesses and instilled in me a relentless work ethic from day one. Working hard and constantly striving to improve were equally as important as the outcomes.

Because that work ethic was ingrained in me as a little kid, I chased an insane dream of being a major league baseball player between the ages of 7 and 25. I was drafted by the Minnesota Twins and played professional baseball for six years, but ultimately, I did not reach my dream. I made it as far as AAA, and then my father was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and I had to make the hard choice of either taking over the family business my father had built over 30+ years or continuing my journey of trying to make it to the major leagues. I knew I couldn’t do both, so ultimately, I decided to begin management of Berlind Properties and learn everything I could about property management. My experiences in property management and the burning desire to constantly chase a dream led me to co-found Snappt.

We instantly verify a renter’s finances, ensuring no fraud has occurred, and we allow leasing teams to determine the applicant’s financial qualifications for the property they are applying for. What makes Snappt special is our advanced AI technology. Your AI results are only as good as the data feeding your model. We’ve analyzed over 7 million documents and maintain a 99.8% accuracy rate, which is one of the biggest differentiators between Snappt and other providers.

We are constantly evolving and expanding our services to meet the ever-changing demands of the market. Last year, we launched our best-in-class ID verification offering, allowing leasing teams to quickly verify their applicant’s identities and further safeguard themselves against fraud. We have a few exciting announcements on the horizon, so stay tuned for that!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

It is unlikely that your first idea will be the perfect one. Speak with customers and iterate until you have found the thing

Ego will get you absolutely nowhere. It’s not about who had the idea; all that matters is that you have the right idea.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

It’s easy to focus on everything that needs to get done and everything that you could be doing. You must learn to ruthlessly prioritize what is most important and push out any activities that are distractions that are not in immediate service of your goals and vision.
