Meet Hannah Cobb

We were lucky to catch up with Hannah Cobb recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hannah, so great to have you sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our readers and so let’s jump right into one of our favorite topics – empathy. We think a lack of empathy is at the heart of so many issues the world is struggling with and so our hope is to contribute to an environment that fosters the development of empathy. Along those lines, we’d love to hear your thoughts around where your empathy comes from?

As a holistic practitioner, I feel a deep compassion for individuals who are struggling with health issues and medical diagnoses where they have no hope in getting better. This empathy first started when I saw my grandmother who struggled with pulmonary hypertension and was on oxygen for the later years of her life. I saw that she struggled to do the things she once could and was suffering in many ways without answers. I knew there was a better way to approach healing without the use of so many prescriptions that would come with a host of side effects. That’s when I realized I wanted to get my education in the holistic health field so I could help my family and those around me. The same empathy and compassion I had for my grandmother is what also drives me today with my clients and wanting to see them fully healed and free from disease.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m the owner and operator of the wellness practice, Sustain Wellness, where I see clients for health consultations along the Gulf Coast at my office as well as offering virtual consulting. I graduated from Trinity School of Natural Health with studies in nutrition, herbology, homeopathy, muscle testing, iridology, reflexology, Bach flower remedies, and more. I focus on getting to the root cause of symptoms and discovering the clues the body is trying to tell us. I see clients of all ages and specialize in understanding and identifying which stressors are hindering the body from healing such as toxins, foods, heavy metals, infections, as well as emotions through muscle testing. The beauty of holistic medicine is that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach and each protocol is created specifically with the client’s needs in mind.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Staying consistent with whatever you are working on is key. I remember there were many times in my journey of building my wellness practice that I wanted to give up because it was discouraging, but I didn’t. Things always start slow when they are new. For that reason, I would also say that having patience is very important. When I look back to see how far I’ve come in this process, I can be proud of myself because I stuck it out and knew things were going to get better over time.
Lastly, have joy throughout the process and celebrate the small victories even if it seems like they could be insignificant to yourself or others. You should be proud of the work you do!

How would you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client is someone who has gone down all the roads in conventional medicine and hasn’t found answers. I’ve had countless clients tell me that they went to their doctor, they ran bloodwork, said everything was normal, but they still don’t feel good. My ideal client is ready to take the leap to try something different and actually discover the root causes of their symptoms instead of covering them up.
