We recently connected with Eliran Nargassi and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Eliran, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Honestly, I wish I had an answer on how to do it, because I would apply it to myself.
Confidence and self-esteem are the two things I would most like to improve myself.
For me, authenticity and honesty are very helpful for my confidence and self-esteem. In my work and in other layers of my life, I give a lot of expression to emotion, to emotional intelligence, so I felt that these are the things that help me.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am Eliran Nargassi, 39 years old.
From Jerusalm, Israel
I’m a fashion designer in my title, but in recent years I’ve been using the phrase “dressing people” more because I’m no longer on the path of designing collections by seasons or years, I’ve never looked at trends. I treat my work more in an artistic aspect. I have my own business “NARGASSI” (family name) since 2013. In recent years I have been working according to a method of personal order per customer. Everything is done by my hands (one man show), in the studio at my house in the Jerusalem mountains. I also sometimes work on special projects such as designing uniforms for restaurants with my design line, clothes for the theater, but the main part of my work is with private clients, whether it’s online (from all over the world) or face-to-face here in Israel. I connect with the personal relationship, knowing who I am dressing in my designs. And I really appreciate the ideology of ‘slow fashion’ in the fast and crazy world we live in.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The first one I will mention is in a more global aspect: compassion and kindness (to humanity, animals and nature) the other two in a more personal aspect: authenticity and individuality.
What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
I believe that if there is a field that interests you and you choose to specialize in it, do your best to be the most professional in it.
After more than 11 years of managing and working for my small brand, I feel the need to open new doors and specialize in other fields in addition to my occupation.
So the answer is yes to both claims. They do not exclude each other.
